Where chat files are kept

Chat attachments, their thumbnails and group pictures are stored on the server's disk by default (/var/lib/aipbx/chat_files). With an S3-compatible storage (AWS S3, MinIO, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2 …) they go to a bucket instead and large files stay off the PBX.

Downloads keep going through the chat service, so only the participants of a chat can open its files; the bucket can stay private. Files stored before the switch are still served from the disk until you move them. The bucket settings are checked before they are saved.

Call recordings, voicemail and faxes stay on the local disk.

Empty for AWS S3. For other providers their S3 address, e.g. https://s3.eu-central-003.backblazeb2.com.
Lets several PBXs share one bucket.
0 = never. Heard messages older than this move to the bucket and leave the server; they are still listed, played and deleted in the portal and the apps, but no longer from a desk phone. New messages are never moved.
