Inbound Call Normalization

Inbound Call Normalization

Rewrites the caller's number or the dialled number of incoming calls, for one trunk or for all of them. Use it so that a caller appears the same way whichever carrier delivered the call, for example +4366412345678 as 066412345678, which can be called back and matches the blacklist and call history. To only keep the last digits of the dialled number, use the setting on the trunk. Outgoing numbers are on Outbound Call Normalization.

Routes, trunks and the normalization pages can all change a number, and they run one after the other. See the order and which setting to use.

Limits to know
  • Asterisk picks the most specific pattern, not the first row. A trunk's own rule comes before a rule for all trunks. Use the test below to check the result.
Inbound normalization On
When off, caller and dialled numbers stay exactly as the carrier sends them; the rules are kept but not used.
Ready-made rules for a country
Loads the usual rules for the caller's number, for all trunks, only when you press the button. It replaces all the rules on this page. You can change or delete what it loads.
